Sally Hansen Triple Shine Review

Today I tried out a new nail polish called Triple Shine by Sally Hansen, thanks to Influenster who sent it to me in the Violet VoxBox to review.
Here are 2 photos of the polish I received to try out. The photo on the left is the bottle right out of the box. The one on the right is showing you how the polish looks without the cap that is on over the brush handle. I took the cap off while using the polish because it was  more comfortable to use that way.

The color I received to try was #390, a glitter filled blue shade called Sparks Fly.

One of the first things I noticed about this nail polish was the brush design. I like how it is a more flat brush, which provides better coverage in less applications.

Below are 3 photos side by side showing how my nails looked after one, two and three coats of polish.

I think the polish is pretty transparent, and in the future I would probably use it over another polish to get a more opaque look.
Thank You Influenster for letting me try another awesome product!

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic holiday!

I'm still getting back into the swing of things after all of the excitement, but I'll be back soon with some more mail, freebies, etc.

Mail Call 12/14

While I don't think I'll be getting any mail with all of this snow today, I do want to share what I got this past week with you all!

I got a DVD and three...towels? They are prizes I ordered from SheKnows. (I plan to sew the "towels" in to pillow cases.) They are switching to a new rewards program and any points you have now will be gone once the switch is made.

I received my first PinchMe box! SUPER excited about it. I actually wrote a whole post about joining this new site.

I'm super excited to get my second PinchMe box, it should be here any day! If you haven't joined this new free sample site yet, you have got to check it out! Leave a comment below and let me know how you'd like to be invited (Facebook, Twitter or email) and I'll be sure to send an invite ASAP!

My Influenster Violet VoxBox arrived, and I could not be happier with it! I got an awesome Goody hairbrush and headband, as well as a Sally Hansen Nail Polish and a SoyJoy bar to try out. My reviews of these items are coming soon, so stay tuned!

MyPoints sent me the Panera Gift Card I had ordered with my points, I can't wait to go have some Broccoli & Cheddar soup!

Now these items all came last week, but I was really sick with a nasty virus and stuck in bed.

First up is a great package from the Carmex Blog Squad containing their new, fun moisturizing lip sticks.

Then I got an issue of Cosmo magazine, from a free subscription that I ordered with points from a reward program. Sadly, I wasn't even able to read this while trapped in bed, my head hurt too much to focus.

Finally, the best and worst mail at the same time. It's awesome because I love Nutella and this is basically Jif's version...Amazing! But, I wasn't able to eat it! It was a week filled with saltines and ice chips. Ugh.

Make sure you check out my latest post with lots of great things to know for earning online this week!

Semi-Productive Snow Day

I'm going to start off with some "things to know."

  • The InstaGC global bonus is up to 4%, and my personal goal bonus is 1%, so I've got a total of a 5% discount on gift cards today. Make sure you take advantage of the awesome discount!
  • Disney Movie Rewards is offering a 5 point bonus code every day until Christmas. Check out their Pinterest page daily to get the code.
  • Make sure to spin the MyPoints Spin to Win wheel daily for a chance to win points or bonus offers.

Okay, now that I've gone over the important stuff, here's some more that I want to share with you all!

I just ordered 2 insulated tote bags from StartSampling.com with my reward points. I'm super excited because I've been saving my points forever! And, I was just thinking that I really needed more grocery bags, but didn't want to pay for them.

Here's something super exciting...I finally found my Jingit card! It had been missing for months, but I finally found it in another purse. So since I have my card again, I'm back to using the app and earning every day. I love being able to use the card to get myself a little something every once in a while, and not having to spend any of my cash.

In other news, it's been snowing since the wee hours of the morning here in NY. Later on tonight it's supposed to pick up the pace to a nice 1 - 3 inches per hour. This was a perfect day to get some things done around the house. Like the holiday baking I've been putting off, or the cleaning...or catching up on NCIS. Turns out there was a marathon today, so that took priority of course! Plus I got to spend some quality time with my dogs.  :)

Who needs socks?  :)

PinchMe, I'm in LOVE...with this new sample program!

I just got my first PinchMe box!

Pinch Me is a new website that offers boxes of free samples, and a cool rewards program for sharing your thoughts. I got my box within 2 weeks of signing up and ordering it, and I just ordered my second box today.

You have to be quick when they restock the samples. It's a brand new site and everyone is trying to get samples, and many are complaining already they they can't get samples. I totally understand that this is a brand new site, there are kinks to work out! I'm just grateful for a new sample program with promise. They have had some great brands available already, and I can't wait to see how this site does in the future!

Interested in joining PinchMe? Leave a comment on this post with your FB link, Twitter name, or email (depending on how you want me to invite you) and I'll invite you!

Saving for Baby! -- UPDATED!

My college roomie is expecting! (Did you think it was me? haha) One of my best friends is going to be having her first baby in a few months, and another friend and I are splitting the cost of a rather large gift for the mom-to-be.
My half of the gift is going to cost about $114. As of October 8th, I've only got $4.21 in Amazon gift cards saved up. (I just bought someone a birthday present.)

I certainly can't afford to spend any money right now, so I found the gift on Amazon (of course!) and I'm working my way towards earning a good amount of gift cards to offset the price. I am currently using 2 websites to earn the gift cards. (I'm still using all of the other ones as usual, but I'm working super hard on these 2 specific websites because they seem to have the best results.)

First, I'm using my all time favorite, Swagbucks. I do the daily poll, NOSO's, watch some videos, and enter swag codes to earn "swagbucks" that convert to prizes. I also use their search feature each day and typically will win 5-10 swagbucks each time that way. I always cash out for the $5 Amazon gift cards and have earned over $350 through the site so far. I've never encountered a problem with the site.

The other site is somewhat new to me, it's called InstaGC. You do tasks, offers, visit sites, watch videos, etc to earn points that you cash in for instant gift cards. It's a $1 minimum and they have Amazon gc's, so I'm hooked! I've earned $19 so far through InstaGC and I'm very happy with them!

I find it very easy to do the tasks on both of these websites while I'm doing other things like watching TV or having a slow hour at work. I really don't spend that much time on either site, I just try to do what I know will earn me points each day.

I'll update as I go with how much I've earned towards my $114 total. Wish me luck!

October 17, 2013Payment towards Amazon.com order (THE GIFT!)$-11.21

Shopping Haul!

I went shopping with my mom twice this weekend, and we found awesome deals both times!

On Saturday we hit up the mall and Kohls.
First my mom spotted these AMAZING Steve Madden boots in my size at DSW. They retail for $230, sold for $149.99 at DSW, and were marked down to $72.99! And get this, as we were in line to pay, another shopper handed me a coupon that's as about to expire, for $20 off! So these awesome boots only cost $54!! They are going to be my birthday present from mom.  :)

Then we went to H&M and I found some sleep shorts that I've needed for a while now. They ended up being on sale and cost $9 for both!

Finally we went to Kohls to use our $10 coupons that came in the mail. Mom didn't find anything she wanted so I got 2 shirts. On sale for $11.99 each, plus we had 15% off coupons too. I paid $1.76 per shirt!

On Sunday went out to a Goodwill store we've never been too before.

I found 2 awesome wool coats The grey one is from Aeropostale and cost $7.49, the orange one is from H&M and cost $6.49!

So...how do you think we did? Have you gotten any great deals recently?

Woolzies Review

I was so excited to try these Woolzies dryer balls out! I hate how much dryer sheets cost, plus I've been reading a lot of negative things about using them lately.

"Woolzies are 100% pure New Zealand wool dryer balls that do everything that conventional fabric softeners do, plus they reduce drying time by 25%. They are money back guaranteed to last for at least 1,000 loads! Woolzies have no chemicals at all and are also hypoallergenic so they are safe even for people with wool sensitivities." (Product Description from Tomoson)

I received a box that contained 6 XL Woolzies in it and went right to work testing them out. There is always laundry to be done in my house.

They made no noise, like a tennis ball would. There was no scent, no static, and they didn't shed at all. They fluffed my clothes and towels while they were drying, and it made the drying time faster!

I love this product and am so happy that I will be able to keep using them in the future. I highly recommend them!

Here they are, hanging out with my laundry, waiting to start bouncing around!
Check out Woolzies website! They also have a Facebook page where you can 'like' them and a Twitter where you can 'follow' them, go for it!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Mail Call - July 27

I'm back as promised, here's a mail call for you to check out!
Now that I'm looking at all the photos from the past 3 weeks, I can see I did pretty well.

Everything you see below was totally FREE!
I wrote when I received something for the purpose of reviewing it, or if I received it for my consignment shop, otherwise it was a sample.

Woolzies Dryer Balls (for review), roll of Scott toilet paper and a coupon, a bracelet and coupon from Kotex, and a sample pack and coupon from Kotex as well.

Cracker Jack'D Cheddar BBQ

Books from SheKnows (I used points to "buy" them)

Atkins sample pack, included 3 snack/meal bars, a coupon, and a carb counter booklet

MaryKay VoxBox from Influenster (for review)

Square reader (for my store)

Foursquare "check-in" decal (for my store)

Foursquare "Popular" decal (for my store)

What's Happening...7/27

Hey everyone!

I know that I haven't posted in a couple of weeks, so here's what's new.

I have 3 reviews coming soon, including dryer balls, wine wear and a corset.

I am in the process of working out my first sponsorship (YAY!) and that may also include another revie and a giveaway for all of you!

My mailbox has been very boring lately. I'm sure it has to do with my limited time to go online these days, but it's still depressing. I have gotten a few things in the past week or so, and I'll post a photo of them soon.

I got a puppy! She's a brindle pit mix, 17 months old, and adorable! I love her.

So...that's pretty much it! If you have anything you want to ask me, feel free. And if you have any ideas for companies or products you want me to try to review, I'd love to know!

THERA°PEARL Back Wrap Review

I'm so excited to share my thoughts of the THERA°PEARL Back Wrap!

I have had back problems for a long time now due to various car accidents, snowboarding falls, and many years of cheerleading and dancing. I pretty much always have something that hurts, and heat is usually the answer.

One of the main problems with that is the fact that you have to stay in the same spot while treating with a heating pad. This back wrap fixed that problem! The strap keeps it in place so you can get things done while treating your back pain.

Another plus is that you can use it anywhere, not just on your back. My boyfriend rolled his ankle at work last week, and I had the solution. I popped the back wrap in the freezer for 2 hours, and when he got home he just wrapped it around his ankle and let the healing begin.

It's so much more comfortable than your everyday cold pack because the "pearls" let it bend and conform however you need it to.

THERA°PEARL makes all sorts of products. From heat/cold packs for your back, neck, knee,  eyes, etc. to drink koozies, there's something for everyone! Check out their great website to see for yourself. You can also find them on Facebook , Twitter, Pinterest and google +.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Skinny Pop Review and Giveaway!

Hi all!

I'm super excited to share my thoughts with you all about the amazing Skinny Pop popcorn!

I was very surprised when I saw a large box on my porch the other day. I opened it and was super happy to pull out 5 bags of Skinny Pop! My boyfriend spotted the bags and immediately opened one up to try. He approved, I could tell by the constant chewing and lack of speech. I grabbed my own bag and dove in. I'm in love!

I have to admit, I was very skeptical at first because of the name. I'm typically not a fan of any "healthy" food, but this popcorn really won me over. It has an awesome taste that's not overpowering, and I was extremely happy to see that the only ingredients are: All Natural Popcorn, Sunflower Oil, and Salt. Yup, that's it! No nasty chemicals, preservatives, or fake flavoring.

Skinny Pop is a clear winner in my book. It is a great all natural snack that is cholesterol free and has zero trans fats. It's dairy, peanut, tree nut, gluten and preservative free; non GMO and a good source of fiber too!

Check it out for yourself, you can find Skinny Pop on their websiteTwitter and Facebook

Here's the GIVEAWAY!
I received the above products through Sublime Media Connection in exchange for an honest review. In no way was I asked to give a positive review.

Smelly Towel Review

Hey everyone, I'm back with another "smelly" review. I talked about how well the Smelly Washer Cleaner worked last week in my new house. Now I'd like to talk about another product by the same company; this one is the Smelly Towel Cleaner.

In my last post I mentioned that I used to have to do all of my laundry at my parents for quite a while. Although it wasn't the ideal situation, it forced me to keep on top of my dirty laundry. Now that I can throw a load in whenever I have a few minutes at home, I tend to forget about it when I go to work and then my laundry sits there all wet and ends up stinking when I remember it.

Again, excellent timing for this review! I recently left all of my shower towels and rugs in the washer overnight  and for most of the next day, and they did not smell pleasant when I finally remembered them. Thankfully I had the Smelly Towel Cleaner ready to go and was able to use it right away. I just added 1 TBSP to the load of stinky laundry and ran it on a hot cycle again. It worked well and I'm very happy that I was able to use a natural solution to the problem!

Just like Smelly Washer Cleaner, Smelly Towel Cleaner is made right here in the USA! Big plus for me. :)
